Loma Prieta Fire and Rescue Annual BBQ
Please join us on Sunday, June 7th, 2009 at 11:00 am for our annual BBQ fundraiser at the Gazebo in the park across the street from the school. A mountain tradition, the firefighters BBQ raises the much needed operating funds for Loma Prieta Volunteer Fire and Rescue. We have an action packed day planned for all that attend. Start with a delicious lunch. Choose from BBQ rib eye steak, marinated chicken. Garlic bread, beans, and salad round out the meal. Assortments of drinks and desserts are also available.

Next up is the entertainment. Lots of games for the kids. Everything from a dunk tank to firefighting games. For the adults and kids alike we have an auto extrication demonstration, Calstar air ambulance. Alma Helitack 106 will swoop in and demonstrate their capabilities. The Sheriff's Department, Summit Cert, The Summit Riders and the Fire Safe Council will have a display. In 2008 we were joined by the San Jose Police Department "Crash Car" display of the remains of a vehicle that crashed into a tree while the driver was under the influence. |

Last but not least is the world class Raffle. Many generous businesses on both sides and the top of the hill donate annually to make the raffle one of the most popular events at the BBQ. All day long we raffle off all kinds of prizes from vacations to tires, from wine to BBQs, from software to fire extinguishers. A major part of our revenue is derived from the raffle. This year we will be offering a trip for two to Belize for a week as our grand prize raffle. Come meet with your friends, enjoy a great meal, win some prizes and get to know your fire department all in one day.
